Assessment and Review by YULS :

  2. Tournament Period  : ★★★★★
    • Application begins in September, National Championship is held in February, and International Championship is held in April.
    • Memorandums are due December.
  3. Reputation/Honour  : ★★★★★
  4. Tournament Quality          : ☆☆☆☆☆, During the Korean National Rounds,
    • Disinterested Organizing Committee : Since 2014, The Korean Society of International Law (KSIL, 국제법학회) has undertook a massive budget cut for the tournament resulting in (1) failure to invite qualified and experienced foreign lawyers and (2) no control over the gallery during the court proceedings, and (3) prohibition on all video recordings of the proceedings.
    • Questionable Language Skills of Judges : Judges mostly composed of Korean university Professors whom have demonstrated doubtful English language proficiency and lack of preparedness. There seems to be much room for improvement.

  6. Overall Assessment and Commentary : ★★★★☆
    • Hands-on experience of legal research, writing memos and memorandums, oral presentation of legal arguments in front of Professors and colleagues in a competitive environment more than compensates for the dedication and diligence required in the preparation stages
    • Competing head on head with law school students gives an accurate assessment of our members’ prospects and promise as a future law school student
    • While there are no threatening competitors in the national rounds, the persistent bias towards Seoul National University Law School Team and the poor Judge pool inside Korea remains as a regretful barricade to all students of law inside Korea.
